This resource forms part of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) ‘Workshops in a Box’ series which contains materials that inform and educate on the voluntary GFANZ Net-zero Transition Plan (NZTP) framework. The presentations contain the information needed for trainers to hold workshops with minimal preparation and can be held independently of each other. This specific material introduces the concept of ‘transition finance’ and covers the ‘decarbonization contribution methodologies’. It considers when and how transition finance could be approached by financial institutions. It also provides a high-level overview of the GFANZ four key transition financing strategies (as introduced in the voluntary GFANZ NZTP framework) and the decarbonisation contribution methodology of Expected Emissions Reduction (as introduced in the supplement to the GFANZ NZTP framework).
