IDFC Sectoral Guidance for Green Finance Tracking

Resource Summary

CPI’s capacity building program with the International Development Finance Club (IDFC) on green finance tracking aims to deepen national and regional banks’ (including IDFC members) understanding of the MDB-IDFC Common Principles, streamline their tracking processes using tools such as decision trees, and address related challenges. This sectoral guidance document unpacks the details of using the Common Principles to track climate finance flows in the following five sectors: energy; transport; water; agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU) and fisheries; and the urban sector. The document would be useful for organisations interested in learning how public finance institutions (including MDBs and IDFC members) approach the qualification and quantification of mitigation, adaptation, and biodiversity finance in these priority sectors.
