Economics and Finance for Environmental Leadership
Course Objective
This course aims to provide participants with a foundation in economic theory, economic tools, and finance solutions to address environmental challenges. It focuses on applying economics to conservation decisions and strengthening capacity building.
Learning Outcomes
- An understanding of basic economic and finance theory applied to environmental challenges
- Insight into natural resource economics and management approaches
- Practical knowledge of economic analysis tools, including valuation and cost benefit analysis
- Familiarity with behavioral economics and its application to policy design
- Tools to evaluate and compare environmental policy instruments
- An overview of finance solutions that can support conservation outcomes
