‘Workshop in a Box’: Transition Finance Basics
Course Objective
This course provides ready-to-use presentation materials introducing the concept of transition finance and guidance on using the ‘decarbonization contribution methodologies’, as part of the voluntary GFANZ Net-zero Transition Plan (NZTP) framework.

- Foundational understanding of transition finance and how it applies to net-zero strategies
- An overview of GFANZ’s four key transition financing strategies
- Guidance on when and how financial institutions might apply transition finance in practice
- Familiarity with decarbonization contribution methodologies, including the Expected Emissions Reduction approach, which estimates the potential emissions impact of financed activities over time
